প্যারাগুয়ে দক্ষিণ আমেরিকার দক্ষিণ-মধ্যভাগে অবস্থিত একটি ভূমিবেষ্টিত রাষ্ট্র। এর সরকারি নাম প্যারাগুয়ে প্রজাতন্ত্র । দেশটি প্যারাগুয়ে নদী এবং পারানা নদীর মাধ্যমে দক্ষিণের প্রতিবেশী রাষ্ট্র আর্জেন্টিনা এবং আটলান্টিক মহাসাগরের সাথে সংযুক্ত। প্যারাগুয়ের রাজধানী ও বৃহত্তম শহরের নাম আসুনসিওন। ১৫৩৭ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত শহরটি পারাগুয়াই নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত দেশটির প্রধান নদীবন্দর। দেশটির উত্তর-পশ্চিমে বলিভিয়া, উত্তর ও উত্তর-পূর্ব দিকে ব্রাজিল এবং দক্ষিণে আর্জেন্টিনার সাথে সীমান্ত আছে।
