ভানুয়াতু প্রজাতন্ত্র দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম প্রশান্ত মহাসাগর এলাকায় অবস্থিত ৮০টি দ্বীপ নিয়ে গঠিত একটি স্বাধীন প্রজাতন্ত্র। এটি হাওয়াই দ্বীপপুঞ্জের ৫৬০০ কিমি দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে এবং অস্ট্রেলিয়ার ২৪০০ কিমি উত্তর-পূর্বে অবস্থিত। ১৯শ শতকের শেষ ভাগ থেকে ১৯৮০ সালে স্বাধীনতা অর্জনের আগ পর্যন্ত ভানুয়াতু যৌথভাবে ফরাসি ও ব্রিটিশ শাসনাধীন ছিল; তখন এর নাম ছিল নিউ হিব্রাইডস। এফাতে দ্বীপে অবস্থিত পোর্ট-ভিলা ভানুয়াতুর রাজধানী।
